Spring River at Smoldering Wick's retreat center

"Elijah's Hide-Away"

We bought our ranch retreat land in November of 2003. The original dream of Smoldering Wick was to have a retreat center in the Colorado Rockies where we founded the ministry, but God led us to land and facilities which are more central to America, and dramatically cheaper. Our 30 acres is tucked away in NE Oklahoma, right on the Spring River, with no neighbors to speak of. To our north a thick hardwood forest is the home of many deer and coyotes. The same is true on our south boundary, and on the eastern edge, we have another hardwood forest which is 80 acres of uninhabited Indian land. The Spring River makes our western boundary, and directly across the river from us - you guessed it - another hardwood forest with no sign of people!

We bring in one couple at a time, and have you stay in our guest bedroom in our family home. Our three youngest daughters, Ariel, Priscilla and Dulcinea, will serve you in any way they can. You will have many hours of free time to wander the woods, sit under a tree and pray, or go floating down the river in an inner tube. Sleep until noon if you like, or arise early to try and spot the owl hooting outside your bedroom window. Stay up late and sit by the river's edge listening to the coyotes howl and yip. Daytime walks can include hawks, vultures, cardinals, blue birds, finches, chickadees, titmice, woodpeckers, deer, fox, squirrels, horses, and our Australian shepherd, Auzzie!

The cost to visit Elijah's Hide-Away is $150 per day. This modest cost covers:
-Private bedroom and bathroom
-Three home cooked meals a day - many from our certified organic garden.
-All the counseling you need.
-All the teaching about Tree of Life living and recovery from burnout - you need.
-All the hiking, swimming and fishing your body can handle.

Please call about dates and bookings. We are looking forward to meeting you and making life-long friendships. 1-918-542-2141.

How you can help: Smoldering Wick's recovery center will be dealing with what many consider the church's dirty laundry. Please be a Good Samaritan and help us treat the fallen along the roadside. Even a small donation on a regular monthly basis will help many. It is easy to pass by on the other side of the road, but the Lord trusts you to be the good neighbor you are. Thank you!
